Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Kazbegi, sulfur baths

5 Days / 4 Nights

Day 1: Arrive in Tbilisi

Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport, meet the organizer and check into the hotel.

Overnight: Tbilisi

 

Day 2: Tbilisi – Kazbek

After breakfast, drive to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD, a UNESCO heritage site. According to the itinerary, visit the sixth-century heritage Cross Monastery (the upper monastery overlooks Mtskheta for sightseeing) and the Svetitskhoveli cathedral. It has become the cradle of Christianity in Georgia since the construction of the Svetitskhoveli cathedral in the eleventh century. Holy robe of Jesus Christ is buried under the Svetitskhoveli Church, Through years Mtskheta represents the religious center of Georgia. Then drive to the amazing and magnificent Kazbegi. On the way we visit the Ananuri Castle which was built in the 16th century. The castle is surrounded by mountains, forests and Jinvali reservoir. The castle`s excellent location and magnificent scenery attracts many tourists every year. Then we will stop at the Gudauri Ski Resort. In the magnificent ancient road, we recommend paragliding activities in the Caucasus Valley. Continue the tour through the pass of Gudauri Ski Resort and arrive at Kazbegi.

Overnight: Kazbegi

 

Day 3: Kazbek – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

After breakfast, you will transfer to a 4x4 jeep to the Gergeti Holy Trinity Cathedral (2200 meters above sea level), which was built in the 14th and 15th centuries, overlooking the panoramic view of Kazbegi. 5054 meters). Then drive to Uplisskhe Rock-cut town (God`s Fortress). Rock City was built on the rocks on the left bank of the Kura River, and has various styles of architectural art, religioun and trade history. After returning to Tbilisi, take a short rest and enjoy football training to prepare for the following friendly match. After training, return to the hotel.

Day 4: Tbilisi – Matchday

After breakfast, drive to Tbilisi Old Town. In the sixth century Tbilisi became the capital of the Iberian Kingdom in eastern Georgia. In the old city we will visit the Metekhi Cathedral built in the 6th century. The original word of Metekhi means "the back garden of the king`s palace". During the rule of Russia and the Soviet Union, the "government" changed the purpose of the church, and nowadays appearance of the church shows signs of destruction. Then we will take the cable car up to Narikala Castle, the most famous attraction in Tbilisi. The fortress was built in the 4th century, and locals have since called it the Mother Fortress. From Narikala Castle, we can overlook the panoramic view of Tbilisi New and Old Towns. Then continue to visit the sulfur bath area. Finally, we hike to Shardeni Street, the busiest pedestrian street in Tbilisi, and visited Tbilisi Peace Bridge. The Peace Bridge is a glass bridge designed by an Italian designer after the Georgia-Russia War in 2008 and has become a symbol of peace.

 

After lunch, return to the hotel for a pre-match rest. In the afternoon, head to the Tbilisi Football Stadium to play football with the Georgian amateur football team. Enjoy friendly and competitive environment on the pitch. After match its highly recommended to visit Sulfur baths, drink some beer and relax body.

Day 5: Tbilisi – Departure

Enjoy breakfast, depart from the hotel, go to Tbilisi International Airport, take the flight back, and end the happy trip
