Tusheti Trecking 

Day 1: Arrive in Tbilisi

Arrive at Tbilisi International Airport, transfer to hotel.

Overnight: Tbilisi

 

DAY 2: Tbilisi – Sighnaghi – Kvareli – Gremi – Telavi

After breakfast, drive to the birthplace of wine - Kakheti. We will drive to the romantic town of love – Sighnaghi. Due to its geographical location, Signaghi became one of the most important towns in Georgian history. In the 18th century, under the leadership of the king, a city wall was built around Signaghi. The current total length of the city wall is 4,4 km with 6 entrance gates and 23 towers built ovet the wall as well. After admiring the magnificent scenery, environment, and architectural style of Sighnaghi we will drive to Kvareli and visit the unique tunnel winery cut in the Caucasus Mountains – Khareba Winery. The natural temperature is 10-12 degrees, natural humidity is 70%, and the total length is 7.7 kilometers. Everyone must try various kinds of wine made in the traditional way. Georgian traditional wine-making methods are preserved and listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Continue the tour to the 16th century Royal Castle and the Church of the Archangel – Gremi Monastery Complex. Then visit the main city of Kakheti – Telavi.

DAY 3: Telavi – ALAVERDI – OMALO

Have breakfast and prepare for the journey ahead. On the way to Omalo, we will visit the Alaverdi Monastery built in the 6th century. Then take a jeep to Omalo. The long journey requires patience, because upon arrival, we will see the most magnificent scenery of the Caucasus Mountains.

DAY 4: Omalo (1880 M above sea level) – Daltrow (2000 M above sea level) – Kvavlo

After breakfast, visit Keselo Fortress (built in 18th century). Take a jeep to Tusheti district to see the most magnificent village - Dartlo. Afterwards, we will hike from Daltlo to Kvavlo villages, where we can discover another world and look forward to it.

DAY 5: Daltro (2000 meters above sea level) – Girevi (2400 meters above sea level) – CHONTIO (2196 meters above sea level)
After breakfast, under the beautiful morning light, head to the village – Girevi. You can treck all day with your luggage, including breaks and picnics.

DAY 6: CHONTIO (2196 meters above sea level) – ATSUNTA pass (2500 meters above sea level)
After breakfast, continue trekking through the former villages of Chontio and Hego. In the afternoon we reach the Atsunta pass.

DAY 7: ATSUNTA Pass (3431 altitude)

After breakfast, continue trecking to the Atsunta pass at an altitude of 3431 meters. After a long hike, we finally reached the highest point of the pass – Atsunta Pass (3431m above sea level). Then return to the starting point.

DAY 8: Trekking BAKHAO – ARDOTI – MUTSO – SHATILI

After breakfast, start trecking, which will pass through small villages and continue on the trail along the Ardotistskali River. Following this river we will reach Shatili. Shatili is the main town in the Khevsureti district. Enjoy dinner with a local family.

DAY 9: Shatili – Mtskheta – Tbilisi

After breakfast, return to modern civilization through the Datijvari mountain pass. Drive to UNESCO Heritage Site – Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. First visit the Cross Monastery built in the 6th century. The monastery is located on top of a hill, from where it overlooks the confluence of the two rivers and the magnificent panorama of the ancient capital. Then visit the next attraction, built in the 11th century -  Svetitshkhoveli Cathedral, where is buried a robe of Jesus Christ. The cathedral represents the most important religious center of Georgia.

DAY 10: Tbilisi day tour

Start the tour of Tbilisi, visit the old city and the new city. Will visit Sulfur Baths, Narikala Castle, Peace Bridge, Metekhi Church, Rustaveli Street and many more.

Overnight in Tbilisi.

 

DAY 11: Departure
Depart from the hotel, go to Tbilisi International Airport, take the flight back, end the happy trip
